What's new in NewWayService 3

- A web interface that allows technicians to consult and print work orders. Actions can also be entered through the web interface. The web interface also allows customers to enter new work orders or consult status of their existing work orders.

- A new module named Events. This module allows you to automatically display a message on screen or send an e-mail to the technician or customer when the status of a work order change or when a new work order is created.

- Technicians can now have a reminder of their appointments directly on screen or by e-mail.

- Technicians can now have two different e-mail addresses. One standard e-mail address and one SMS e-mail address.

- A new Windows service. This new service makes it possible to automate some tasks such as sending e-mails, event management and reminders as well as recursive work orders generation.

- A new error log is available to be informed when there is a problem with the new Windows service (for example when an e-mail contains an invalid address and cannot be sent).

- When sending work orders by e-mail, it is now possible to automatically insert a form in PDF format. As in the previous version, all forms are customizable via the powerful reports generator already included with NewWayService.

- When sending work orders by e-mail, it is now possible to see the final result of the e-mail directly on screen before even sending it. This can be very useful in particular when you create your own e-mail formats and that you want to make tests.

- New e-mail formats of type SMS (short message service) can now be created.

- A new technology to send e-mails is now used. Most of the servers SMTP compatible can be used to send e-mails through. Sending work orders by e-mails can now be done directly by the client computer or by the new Windows service that can be installed on a server.

- The calendar of appointments was completely rebuilt. It is now possible to move and adjust appointments directly on screen. It is also possible to see appointments of a week or a month on screen.

- The interface when entering a work order was improved.

- Work orders can now be billed to a different customer.

- A complete log is now available in each work order. It is now possible to see by who and when a work order status changed. Each e-mail sent is also kept in the log of each work order.

- New status were added. Each work order can now have 10 different status. You can customize the description of each 10 status.

- New fields (Other fees service and Other fees parts) were added in work orders. Description of these fields is customizable according to your needs.

- Customers can now have branches (a child customer of another customer). You can indicate to always automatically bill to the parent customer (head office).

- Service rates can now be set by customer.

- It is now possible to create a work order directly from the Customers module.

- Serial numbers can now have child serial numbers (a child serial number of another serial number). This facilitates consultation on screen.

- A technician (called responsible) can now be set directly to a work order.

- A detailed search is now available in main modules.

- Automatic work orders are now called recursive work orders. A wizard was added when creating a new recursive work order.

- More fields are now available in most of the modules such as fields for the technicians address. You can also enter information on your company (name, address, etc.) and some of this information is automatically printed on reports and forms.

- Customer, product, serial number, spare part and technician codes are now editable anytime.

- More reports and forms are already included with NewWayService and are all customizable using the powerful reports generator also included with NewWayService. The reports generator was also improved and new RAP functions were added.

- NewWayService 3 is now using the Firebird 1.5 database engine instead of Interbase 6. This database is faster and also available for free.

- A data transfer utility is also included and allows you to transfer your data from NewWayService 2 to NewWayService 3 with a simple mouse click.

- The license manager is now available directly from NewWayService 3.

- New licensing mode. Licenses are now managed per user (technicians) instead of per computer. Note that no license is required for customers that enter a work order through the web version or customers that consult the status of a work order through the web version. The NewWayService Windows service does not require any license either.

- Several other minor improvements are also included in the new version 3.
