What's new in OroTimesheet 5
- A "web" version of OroTimesheet (timesheet entry option only) is now included. Users can now enter their time through the web version or the standard version (Windows version).
- A "local" version of OroTimesheet (timesheet entry only) is now included. Users with laptop computers can now enter their time in the local version then synchronize with the central database when they are back to the office.
- An invoicing module (including taxes management) in now integrated into OroTimesheet. Invoice generation is done by a simple mouse click.
- Each project can now have sub-projects. An unlimited number of sub-projects can be created for each project.
- Budgets can now be entered per project or sub-project as the case may be. Budgets can also be entered for expenses (costs of expenses and billable expenses).
- Budgets can now be distributed per employee, activity or expense type.
- A "quick" timesheet entry (in a week view) is now available.
- A Copy timesheets option per day or per week.
- When entering timesheets, only projects of the employee are now displayed in the list instead of displaying the entire list of projects. It speed-up project selection.
- Improved option to change timesheet status.
- A new permanent field "Overtime" is now available in timesheets. You can indicate (from the "General parameters" option) to change the cost or billing rate per time unit when this field is checked.
- A time bank for each employee is now available (for example, John worked 45 hours during the week, 40 hours are paid and 5 hours remain in his time bank).
- A billing rate per time unit can now be set directly per employee instead of per activity or instead of by using billing rules.
- Each employee is now linked to a base group to facilitate printing of reports by group..
- Inactive projects, employees and customers can now be hidden on screen.
- More fields are now available in most of the modules such as fields for address and payment term in the customers module. You can now also enter information on your company (name, address, etc.) and some of these information are automatically printed on reports and forms (invoices).
- Import data option. You can import customers, projects, activities, employees or timesheets from most of the standard file formats such as files like MS Access, MS Excel, dBase, Paradox, Lotus, Text, CSV, etc. or from any ODBC compatible database.
- Export data option with a simple mouse click to file format such as MS Access, MS Excel or dBase.
- Timesheet batch modification option. Perfect when you need to modify several timesheets in one operation. For example, you could change the billing rate of several timesheets already entered.
- Employee codes as well as project and customer codes can now be modified.
- Each module now has 12 user defined fields instead of only 6 (New fields are of type date, date/time, currency and notes).
- Types of expense now have a unit cost as well as a unit price. Each type of expense can also be refundable and/or billable by default.
- More reports are included with OroTimesheet and they are still all customizable using the powerful reports generator also included with OroTimesheet. The reports generator was also improved. New "RAP" functions were added.
- OroTimesheet 5 now uses the database Firebird 1.5 instead of the database Interbase 6. This database is a lot faster and also available for free. Refer to the OroTimesheet 5 installation guide for more information.
- Licenses are now managed per employee instead of per computer. Refer to the OroTimesheet 5 installation guide for more information.
- A new software named "Punch clock for OroTimesheet 5" is now available. For example, employees in a factory could punch in/punch out using this software. This software was specifically developed to be used with touch screen monitors but can work as well with normal monitors and a simple mouse. Each employee can have a employee number and a PIN (personal identification number). Each project and sub-project can also have a job number if you want that employees select a job number in addition to punching in. Please note that the punch clock software is optional . Licenses are sold separately.
- A data transfer utility that allows you to transfer data from OroTimesheet 4 to OroTimesheet 5 is also included. Refer to the OroTimesheet 5 installation guide for more information.
- Several other minor improvements are also included in the new version 5.
