I cannot import or export data from/to MS Excel files.

It can happen that with some Windows versions (usually Windows 7 or higher) that you cannot import/export data from/to MS Excel files or that you are receiving the error message Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.

This is because Microsoft decided to not include anymore drivers required to access those files in its Windows versions.

Also, to be able to access MS Excel 2007 or MS Access 2007 files when importing or exporting data, you must now install the file 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components, no matter the Windows version you are using.

To fix the situation, download and install the file 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components from the Microsoft web site. You can install this file no matter that you have a version of Microsft Office installed or not on your computer and no matter the Microsoft Office version. This file can be downloaded and installed for free.
